POSIpot wins best new product

POSIpot sales expected to grow as the single use plastic issue comes to the fore.

Sales of POSIpot®, the Point of Sale compostable pot which is a sustainable solution to the ever-growing problem of single use plastic plant pots, are expected to grow rapidly after the product won the Horticulture Week ‘Best Professional Product’ at the Four Oaks Trade Show with judges singling out its innovative yet simple design.

Designed and supplied by edibleculture in Faversham, POSIpot has begun to revolutionise the plant buying process for gardeners, giving a viable, cost-effective, plastic-free plant supply method which means gardeners are not left to dispose of single-use plastic.

POSIpot has been described as a new ‘disruptive’ product that challenges retail norms. It came to public attention when featured on BBC Gardeners World as part of a number of innovations edibleculture took to stop the sale of single use plastics, the first grower and garden centre in the UK to do so.

edibleculture is a partnership between Chris Williams and David Ware who comment “Even before The Four Oaks show we saw a rapid rise in interest in the POSIpot concept. There is a growing awareness among consumers in general and gardeners in particular that we should eliminate single use plastic where possible. That awareness is now growing among plant retailers who recognise POSIpot as the effective solution it is.”
